FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know as you begin planning your trip to Sri Lanka and the celebrations surrounding our wedding.

  • Our wedding will take place on Wednesday, December 29, 2027, at Vinkalé by Petrokem, on the Bolgoda River just outside Colombo, Sri Lanka.

  • Our celebrations begin with a Welcome Dinner on December 28, followed by the wedding on December 29 and 31st Night at Galle Face on December 31.

    December 30 is intentionally left open to rest or explore.

  • We recommend arriving in Colombo by Monday, December 27, 2027, especially if you are travelling long distance.

    This gives you time to settle in and recover from the journey before the celebrations begin.

  • We have arranged a room block at Shangri-La Colombo, which will be our preferred hotel for the wedding week.

    Booking details and the wedding rate will be added to the Accommodation page once finalized.

  • Entry requirements depend on the passport you are travelling with.

    Please visit our Travel page for current passport and ETA guidance, along with links to the official Sri Lankan immigration websites.

  • We plan to arrange transportation for key wedding events from selected locations in Colombo.

    Pickup points, departure times and return transportation will be confirmed closer to the wedding.

  • Dress guidance for each celebration will be available on our Dresscode page.

    We will share the formality, suggested attire and any practical notes for the setting as plans are finalized.

  • Your formal invitation will indicate exactly who is included in your invitation.

    If you have any questions once invitations are sent, please reach out to us directly.

  • Children who are included in your formal invitation are warmly invited.

    Please refer to the names listed on your invitation for your household.

  • Formal invitations will be sent in early 2027, and RSVP details will be included at that time.

    We plan to ask for final responses by March 16, 2026.

  • Yes. We will ask about allergies and dietary requirements when formal RSVPs open.

    Please include anything we should know so arrangements can be made in advance.

  • Rather than a traditional wedding registry, we are inviting guests who wish to give a gift to consider making a donation to two organizations that mean a great deal to us: Sarvodaya in Sri Lanka and the LEMO Foundation in California.
