The 356 Cup Rules 1.0
The 356 Cup Rules
Rules & Regulations
1. Race Format
Each round is a 4-minute endurance race.
The objective is to see how many laps each driver can complete in the allotted time.
Races are mainly run between Shane and Tiara in their nearly identical Golden Wolf Racing Porsche 356 C slot cars, but anyone gifted one of Shane’s creations is eligible to compete in the series.
2. Cars & Equipment
All drivers will compete in Golden Wolf Racing Porsche 356 C slot cars.
Cars are nearly identical to ensure fair competition.
Standard maintenance and setup checks may be performed prior to each round.
3. Driver Regulations
Each driver (Shane and Tiara) must complete the entire 4-minute race without substitution.
No external assistance may be provided during the race.
Focus, consistency, and precision are the keys to success.
4. Pit Lane & Off-Track Rule
If a car goes off track, it must be re-entered into the race through the pit lane.
The lap during which the off-track occurred will not be counted.
Marshals (self or agreed third party) must ensure fair pit re-entry.
5. Points & Scoring
Unlike the main Gatsby Cup, the 356 Cup is scored purely by laps completed.
At the end of each 4-minute race:
The driver with the highest number of completed laps is declared the winner.
Ties are broken by the driver who achieved their final lap first (time-based).
6. Driver Morals & Sportsmanship
As in The Gatsby Cup, the spirit of competition comes first:
Respect the Race – No intentional off-tracks, blocking, or manipulation of re-entry.
Respect Each Other – Friendly rivalry, but always fair play.
Integrity Matters – Both drivers are responsible for clean driving and self-policing when needed.
7. Championship Format
The 356 Cup is a support series alongside The Gatsby Cup.
Multiple rounds will be held across the Gatsby Cup Season, with a running tally of laps and wins between Shane and Tiara.
An overall 356 Cup Champion will be declared based on race wins, if Shane and Tiara are tied a winner will be declared by who ever completed the most laps between them.
The Classic Series
Classic Support Race Series
Rules & Regulations
1. Series Overview
The Classic Series is a support championship held alongside each Gatsby Cup weekend.
The series highlights cars ranging from 1950s racers to modern supercars, tested in direct head-to-head competition.
Each Gatsby Cup weekend will feature 1 to 4 Classic Series races, depending on the event schedule.
2. Cars & Categories
Eligible cars include:
1950s–2010s Classic Racers
1950s–2020s Road Cars
Contemporary Supercars
Race organizers will designate which cars are used per race to ensure variety and balance.
3. Race Format
All Classic Series races are run as F1-style lap countdown races.
Lap totals:
Standard rounds use lap counts based on what a Formula 1 race would run at the given circuit.
Le Mans-based rounds: fixed at 24 laps.
Laguna Seca round: fixed at 28 laps.
4. Driver Regulations
Each car is run by a single driver for the entire race (no substitutions).
The series is contested between Shane and Tiara.
Drivers must adapt their style to different car eras while racing clean and fair.
5. Pit Lane & Off-Track Rule
Any car that goes off track must re-enter the race from pit lane, excluding the lap in which the off occurred.
Marshals (or agreed mutual enforcement) oversee fair pit re-entry.
6. Scoring & Championship
The Classic Series is decided purely on race wins.
At the end of each race, the winner is the driver who completes the full lap distance first.
No additional points are awarded for laps or fastest times.
The Classic Series Champion will be crowned at season’s end based on total number of race wins between Shane and Tiara.
In the event of a tie in wins, the driver with more head-to-head victories in the final weekend will be declared champion.
7. Driver Morals & Sportsmanship
As in all Gatsby Cup events, the Classic Series emphasizes respect and clean racing:
Respect the Machines – Drive appropriately for the era of car being raced.
Respect the Rivalry – Aggressive but fair competition is encouraged; deliberate contact or blocking is not.
Fairness Above All – No misuse of pit lane re-entry, no sandbagging, and no unsportsmanlike conduct.
