With Thanks & Appreciation

Tiara Ganegama

For supporting me in every possible way, and for gently pushing me to sit down and build this entire dream into something real. So much of Gatsby’s Garage exists because of her love, belief, and patience. On the days this project felt too hard, she reminded me why it mattered. She is my partner in every sense; my constant, my strength, my person.

Rich Ha and Bumbly

For being my best friend in a way I never knew I deserved. Rich is more than a friend; he’s a mentor, a brother, and at times a father figure; all wrapped into one of the kindest hearts I know. His loyalty, wisdom, and care have shaped my life in ways words barely capture. I’m endlessly grateful for him.

Rich’s family includes his wife, Yeana, their two cats, and, of course, Gatsby’s best friend. It’s always a joy spending time with all of them, and we look forward to many adventures ahead; hopefully a few camping ones, too. Yeana’s warmth and humor blend perfectly with Rich’s energy.

We would also like to thank Bumbly, without whom who knows if Rich and I would have ever become such great friends. One thing is very clear in this story: Gatsby and Bumbly knew they were best friends first. No matter where we are or where Bumbly is, we can always say the other dog’s name and instantly get our dog’s attention. It’s amazing how cars and dogs brought us together.

Tushara Dilanie

My mom has been my greatest supporter from the very beginning. Growing up, our home environment was often difficult for her, and I witnessed her endure treatment no one should ever have to experience. What I remember most is her strength; her ability to protect my sense of wonder even when she wasn’t being protected herself.

In a household where I was mocked or discouraged for playing with toys, creating, or exploring my imagination, she was the one who nurtured my curiosity and encouraged me to go deeper. She consistently showed up, emotionally and physically, in ways that made all the difference.

Everything I’ve become; my work, my creativity, and the joy this project brings me; is built on the foundation she fought to give me. Her love, resilience, and unwavering belief are the reason I had the courage to build any of this at all.

Dan DeSantis

For teaching me what it means to be a man of character, integrity, and honor. From the moment I met Dan, he cared about my future and well-being as if I were his own. He’s the father figure who showed up without any obligation, and I’m proud to say he is the dad I chose; not the one I was given. Dan and his wife Gisele have been a second family to my mom and me. I am eternally grateful for their kindness in both good and hard times, their compassion for others, and the time they devote to helping those in need.

Josh Snowhorn

For giving a kid fresh out of college a chance at a job, always being supportive, kind, and willing to go the extra mile for those around him. Josh is energetic, fun, and driven. I appreciate all he has done in shaping my young professional career. He’s also constantly teaching me more and more about our shared passion and obsession with cars.

Dylan Rose

For being the friend who always tells the truth, but with kindness, clarity, and compassion. Dylan has been someone I can call in both the hardest and happiest moments of my life. And through him, we’ve come to know Ceci; someone who complements Dylan so beautifully and brings warmth wherever she goes.

Ben Albright

For being the voice of logic, reason, and grounded thinking whenever life gets overwhelming. Ben is also one of my oldest and most important friendships; someone who has been there through every major chapter. Through Ben, we’ve gotten to know Kate, who brings out the absolute best in him. We are excited for the adventures the four of us will share in the future.

Connor Hastie

For inspiring everyone around him without even trying. Connor brings a genuine, humble energy to every moment, making any occasion better just by being there. My only complaint is that he’s too far away; but with a few more years in the sky, that might change. Until then, I’m grateful for every moment we get.

Rohan Kumar and Kota

For being one of the hardest-working people I know; someone whose dedication pushes me to be better, smarter, and more intentional. Rohan is also one of the most caring people in the world, and his dog Kota has always looked out for Gatsby like family. After Gatsby was bitten in 2023, Kota noticed a change in his behavior around other dogs. The incredible thing about Kota is the way he positions himself between Gatsby and other dogs; an act of kindness that helps Gatsby walk more confidently. That level of gentleness is a reflection of Rohan and his family’s genuine care for others. Their kindness has meant more than they know to Gatsby, Tiara, and me.

Nav Singh

My older brown brother from another mother. Nav is the friend who will always stand up for the people he loves and never lets any of us settle for less than we deserve. He brings compassion, humor, and incredible energy to every room. And through him, we’ve loved getting to know Jacklyn; someone who matches his spirit beautifully. It’s so nice to see him find someone he truly wants to keep making memories with.
