Built by Motorsport History
Every track we create is inspired by the circuits that define motorsport history—from Monza’s high-speed straights to the technical rhythm of Suzuka and the endurance legacy of Le Mans. These are not just layouts, but scaled interpretations of the world’s most iconic tracks, designed to capture their flow, character, and racing spirit.
By bringing these circuits into a tabletop format, we give guests the opportunity to engage with motorsport in a tactile, social way—transforming legendary racing venues into shared experiences.
Examples:
Hot Laps at Autovino
Designed specifically for evenings at AutoVino, this experience features our fully decorated tabletop Monza setup, creating a striking visual centerpiece for your event. Over a minimum 2-hour activation, guests have the opportunity to race and compete for the fastest lap time. Each participant typically receives a 4-minute session—2 minutes to learn the circuit and car, and 2 minutes to push for their best lap. This single-track format is ideal for parties of up to 75 guests, delivering a seamless mix of competition, engagement, and entertainment throughout the night. Includes our custom 3D printed Monza Trophy to the winner
How it Works
-
We arrive, set up, and prepare the full racing environment before guests arrive. Once the event begins, we guide participants through a quick introduction so they can get comfortable with the cars and circuit. The experience is designed to be simple and intuitive—guests can step in at any time, race, and return throughout the evening.
-
Guests typically begin with a short practice run before moving into timed laps. While multiple people can practice at once, official runs are done one at a time to keep the competition clear and engaging. Each participant gets a short session to learn the track, then push for their fastest lap.
All race operations are managed by Gatsby’s Garage, including resetting cars and maintaining the flow of the track.
-
It starts casually—just a lap to try it out. Then another to improve. Before long, guests are returning throughout the night, chasing faster times and challenging friends and coworkers. That repeat engagement is what turns the track into the centerpiece of the evening.

A slot car story that kept getting bigger
My earliest car memories weren’t in a driver’s seat – they were on the floor, running slot cars by myself or with my first dog, Toby, keeping me company. It was quiet, focused time: just plastic track, tiny cars, and the feeling that if I changed one thing, the next lap might be better.
As a teenager, I found slot cars again and realised it wasn’t just nostalgia. I started chasing cleaner lines, smoother laps, and the satisfaction of making something small feel like real racing. At university that grew into designing my own CAD models of working slot cars – figuring out how to package motors, gears, and bodies so they not only looked right, but drove the way I imagined.
After college, it was just me and Gatsby. As a single guy in a new chapter, I adopted this ridiculous smart, adorable Pomsky and got my first properly working slot car on track. Over the next few years, Gatsby and I tuned and adapted cars specifically to beat the stock Scalextric models – chasing that tiny but addictive gap between “out of the box” and “as good as it can possibly be.”
In 2023, Tiara came into our lives. For the first time, I had a human opponent who wanted to learn how to race, more specifically, faster than I. Racing each other changed everything: suddenly the late-night testing and small setup tweaks weren’t just for me, they were so someone else could feel that same click when a lap finally comes together. Tiara is the reason I realised this was worth sharing beyond our living room.
In 2025, in the middle of our own private slot car championship, we launched Gatsby’s Garage. What started as a personal world of custom cars, evolving rules, and close races under our roof turned into something we could invite people into. In 2026, we’re sharing our full year of slot car racing publicly for the first time – while still designing and iterating on our own 3D-printed slot cars in the background.
Gatsby’s Garage Immersive Racing Events is simply the next step: taking the thing that connected a kid, a student, a single guy, a couple, and a very opinionated dog, and using it to bring more people together. If slot cars could do all that in our little world, imagine what they can do for your home, office, or event.
