Jaguar XJR-12 Custom

One of the great endurance racers of the early 1990s, carrying Jaguar to victory at the 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona. Developed by Tom Walkinshaw Racing, it was powered by a naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V12, delivering both reliability and immense speed. With its low-slung bodywork and distinctive Castrol livery, the XJR-12 remains one of the most recognizable Group C prototypes of its era.

This RC model is built from Tamiya’s original Jaguar XJR-12 Group C kit, retaining its period-correct brushed motor and foam tires, just as the kit was designed. The chassis offers the simplicity and lightweight performance characteristic of Tamiya’s Group C platform, emphasizing smooth speed and efficient handling. Keeping the build close to factory specification preserves its vintage character and pays tribute to Tamiya’s early 1990s engineering.

The body is finished in a deep dark metallic grey, overlaid with the iconic Castrol livery and wearing the #60 race number. The wheels have been painted golden yellow, adding contrast and a touch of individuality while still echoing the spirit of endurance racing. The result is a striking custom interpretation of Jaguar’s Le Mans winner—faithful to its roots, but with a bold, personal twist in presentation.
