Lotus Europa Special

This the final and most refined version of Lotus’ lightweight, mid-engined Europa, produced in the early 1970s. With its distinctive wedge profile, bonded chassis, and improved twin-cam engine, the Special balanced Chapman’s obsession with lightness and handling precision with subtle luxury touches. Its unique proportions and performance-oriented engineering earned it a lasting place among classic Lotus icons.

This RC version was built by Tiara, assembled to Tamiya’s exact specifications. The body is mounted on the M-06 chassis, a rear-wheel-drive platform that perfectly complements the Europa’s character. Power comes from the stock brushed motor, sending drive to the rear wheels just as in the full-scale car, creating a faithful connection between model and original.

The body is painted in a rich dark blue with gold accents, echoing the classic Lotus color scheme. The rims are detailed in both gold and silver, adding contrast and depth to the overall look. Built true to kit form, this Europa Special showcases Tamiya’s design while honoring the spirit of Lotus’ most distinctive sports car.
