Built 2015
The Ferrari 458 GTE
was developed as a factory-backed endurance racer, competing in prestigious series such as the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA. Based on the 458 Italia road car but extensively re-engineered, the GTE variant featured widened bodywork, larger aero elements, a stripped interior, and balance-of-performance-focused tuning. It earned Ferrari numerous class victories, including Le Mans, cementing its place as one of the marque’s most successful modern GT cars.
For the scale build, the foundation came from Tamiya’s 458 Challenge body, originally designed for the TT-02 chassis. With careful modifications, the body was reshaped to better capture the aggressive aerodynamics of the GTE car—adding detail to the front splitter, rear wing, and overall aero profile. The result transforms a Challenge shell into a truer reflection of Ferrari’s endurance racing machine.
Underneath, the body sits on a Team Associated RC10TC6 chassis, a proven competition platform. Powered by a Castle brushless motor and Spektrum electronics, the car blends scale accuracy with serious on-track performance. The combination of endurance-inspired aero and high-end touring car hardware makes this build both a faithful tribute to the 458 GTE and a capable racer in its own right.
