Audi 90 Quattro Racing

One of the most distinctive touring cars of the late 1980s, competing in IMSA GTO racing with Audi’s proven all-wheel-drive system. Its wide stance, boxy silhouette, and flared bodywork made it a formidable presence on track, while the turbocharged five-cylinder engine delivered the speed to match. The 90 Quattro became an icon of Audi’s motorsport heritage, remembered for its unique sound and bold styling.

Tamiya’s 1/10 scale version captures the aggressive proportions of the Audi 90 Quattro, mounted on the versatile TT-02 chassis. This build runs full-time AWD with a compact Traxxas brushless motor, providing smooth, efficient power delivery. A switchable cooling fan has also been fitted to manage electronics temperatures during extended runs, ensuring consistent performance. The TT-02 platform gives the car dependable handling, making it well suited for both spirited driving and display.

The body is finished in PS-3 blue, accented with four stripes in two additional blues and black, creating a striking custom livery that emphasizes the 90 Quattro’s sharp edges and racing stance. The bold color scheme sets it apart from traditional Audi liveries, while the deep metallic finish ties the design together. Combined with the AWD brushless drivetrain and custom detailing, this build is a modern, one-of-a-kind take on Audi’s legendary racing saloon.
