Built 2012

The Ferrari 458 Italia Challenge (TT02)

Debuted in 2010 as the successor to the 430 Challenge, purpose-built for Ferrari’s one-make racing series. Based on the 458 Italia road car, it featured extensive weight reduction, racing suspension, slick tires, and upgraded brakes, while retaining the naturally aspirated 4.5L V8. The Challenge version embodied Ferrari’s philosophy of delivering uncompromising track performance in a customer-friendly package.

Tamiya brought the car to life in 1/10 scale on their TT-02 chassis, a versatile and beginner-friendly platform known for its durability and easy setup. With a shaft-driven 4WD system, symmetrical suspension geometry, and modular design, the TT-02 quickly became the standard entry-level touring chassis in Tamiya’s lineup. Its wide support for gear ratios, tuning parts, and body options made it adaptable for both casual driving and competitive club racing.

This build of the 458 Italia Challenge emphasizes clean execution and Ferrari authenticity. The body is finished in vivid Rossa Corsa, showcasing the sculpted lines without clutter from race numbers or sponsor decals. Powered by the reliable TT-02 drivetrain and brushed motor, it’s a balanced combination of scale realism and accessible RC performance—a model that captures the spirit of Ferrari’s modern racing era.
