Built 2023
Jaguar I Type V
The Formula E Gen2 car marked a major step forward for the all-electric championship, introduced in 2018 with greater power, longer range, and a futuristic design. With its aggressive bodywork, enclosed wheels, and dramatic halo system, the Gen2 created a bold visual identity for the series. Among the standout entries was the Jaguar I-Type V, a sleek green-and-black machine that carried Jaguar Racing into the thick of Formula E competition.
Tamiya reproduced the Gen2 car in 1/10 scale, pairing the detailed body with the advanced TC-01 chassis. Designed as a versatile 4WD touring platform, the TC-01 features independent suspension, a central driveshaft, and balanced geometry, making it one of Tamiya’s most sophisticated RC racing bases. This build runs the stock motor and ESC, staying faithful to Tamiya’s specifications while delivering dependable on-track performance.
The body is finished in a scheme inspired by the Jaguar I-Type V, combining metallic green tones with black accents to recreate the look of Jaguar’s Formula E contender. The sharp lines of the Gen2 body shell highlight the futuristic aesthetic of the series, while the TC-01 chassis provides a strong foundation for both realism and performance. The result is a striking RC build that blends Formula E innovation with Tamiya engineering.
