2024 McLaren MCL38

One of the most emotional one-off designs of the Formula 1 season when it ran the Senna Helmet Tribute livery at Monaco. Inspired by Ayrton Senna’s unmistakable yellow, green, and blue helmet, the livery honored his legacy as one of McLaren’s greatest champions, and as the driver who achieved six unforgettable wins around the streets of Monte Carlo.

This RC build is based on the Tamiya F104 chassis fitted with a WRC F1 body, designed to replicate the proportions and stance of a modern Formula 1 car. The chassis is powered by a stock brushed motor, staying faithful to Tamiya’s kit setup while providing smooth and reliable running. Its direct-drive configuration and realistic wheel layout make it a fitting platform for a Grand Prix replica.

The body is finished in black, overlaid with yellow vinyl elements to recreate the Senna helmet-inspired livery, and it proudly wears Oscar Piastri’s race number 81. The vibrant colors contrast sharply with the dark base, echoing the exact look of McLaren’s Monaco tribute. Paired with the F104 chassis, it serves both as a capable RC Formula 1 racer and as a detailed homage to Senna’s enduring connection to McLaren.
